Arts and Humanities Alumni Joining Together

Over the past several months, both the Arts Alumni and the Humanities Alumni Societies have been meeting to discuss the possibility of creating a new entity that would combine to become the Arts and Humanities Alumni Society. Both boards met this spring and officially voted to become one body.

The Arts and Humanities Alumni Society has set fourth many goals for the 2009-2010 year, including trying to reach out to more alumni and connect with students. In helping to achieve this goal, they met in July for a strategic planning session where they laid out this year's events. These include:

• Welcome Back Pizza Party on October 8 for students and alumni
• Student recruitment calling night on November 16
• Student and alumni speed networking on March 3
• Golf outing on the OSU Scarlet Course on May 10

In addition, the society is reaching out to the community and a local school district by participating in the Read Across America program on March 1 and 2. Also look for a beer tasting event that will be scheduled sometime next year.
